Praya Palazzo
A Thai nobleman's 1923 Italian Neo-Renaissance palazzo on the Chao Phraya
About the Property
This Italianate riverside mansion was built in 1923 for Praya Ratsadanupradit Mahisorn Phakdi, a nobleman and governor of Trang province, who commissioned Italian architects to design a Bangkok palazzo on the western bank of the Chao Phraya. Left derelict for decades, the building was painstakingly restored over four years using original materials and techniques, reopening as a 17-room boutique hotel. Guests arrive exclusively by the hotel's private boat — there is no road access.
