Shinta Mani Angkor
Bill Bensley's hospitality-school hotel at Siem Reap's French Quarter edge
About the Property
Founded in 2003 by designer Bill Bensley and hotelier Sokoun Chanpreda, Shinta Mani Angkor occupies a prime position at the intersection of the French Quarter and the old Siem Reap market district. What distinguishes it from Angkor's luxury hotel cluster is its social mission: the property operates as a working training institute for Cambodian youth in hospitality, with every guest stay directly funding vocational education. Bensley's design draws on traditional Khmer motifs and materials, and the hotel's garden pool has become one of the most photographed corners of Siem Reap.
