About the Property

The Majestic has stood at the gateway to Kuala Lumpur since 1932, when it served as the social epicentre of colonial Malaya. Its grand ballroom hosted the declaration of Malayan independence in 1957 — Tunku Abdul Rahman and the country's founding leaders celebrated here on Merdeka night. Restored by YTL Hotels in 2012, the original Majestic Wing preserves its neo-classical facade and Art Deco interiors, including the original cage elevator, terrazzo floors, and Straits Chinese tilework.
